Importing from your tester
Nothing is imported until you've reviewed it, and the original file is kept with each import as evidence. Importing the same results again doesn't create duplicates: tests that were imported before are skipped.
Kewtech SMARTPAT (KewPAT app)
- In the KewPAT app, export the database. This gives you a file called
PatAppData.db. - Copy the file to your computer.
- On Import, choose Kewtech SMARTPAT, upload the file, check the review and click Import these tests.
Seaward, Megger, Metrel, Martindale, Fluke and other testers
- In your tester's PC software, export your results as CSV. If the software only saves Excel files, open the file in Excel and use Save As → CSV.
- On Import, choose your tester and upload the file. If the export has no client or site column, type them into the form.
- Columns are matched automatically by their headings. If a required column (asset ID, test date or client) can't be found, you'll see a table of every column with its first few values. Choose what each one holds, then click Apply columns.
- Review the summary and any warnings, then click Import these tests. Tick Remember these columns to have the next file with the same layout mapped for you.
Good to know
- Readings with units, such as
0.12 Ω,>299 MΩor450 µA, and decimal commas are understood. - Dates are read day-first (UK style). If your software writes month-first dates, choose that under Dates are written.
- If the file gives no limit for a reading, the standard IET Code of Practice limit for the appliance's class is used. If the tester passed a reading that would fail that limit (a long lead's earth bond, for example), it's recorded without a limit and flagged for you to check.
